Dance/Movement Therapy
& Counseling Services.

Dance/Movement Therapy services focused on bringing balance to the mind-body-spirit and re-establishing feelings of balance, self-acceptance, and joy for life.

Addressing underlying needs such as increased stress, anxiety, and depression, individual and small group services will support you in processing the stages of grief, healing from trauma and loss, and feeling empowered following major life changes/transitions. My goal is to support you in re-connecting with yourself following the loss of a loved one, ending of a relationship, or other scenarios which have left you feeling lost, confused, sad, hurt, angry, alone, and/or out of your emotional comfort zone.

Dance/Movement Therapy: Using the body to heal the mind.

The American Dance Therapy Association (adta.org) defines dance/movement therapy (DMT) as "the psychotherapeutic use of movement to promote emotional, social, cognitive, and physical integration of the individual, for the purpose of improving health and well-being". In short, DMT is a modality utilizing the body as the tool to foster health, wellness, and healing in an individual.

DMT and Clinical Counseling.

With dual licensing as a Board Certified - Dance/Movement Therapist (BC-DMT #1207) and Professional Clinical Counselor (CA PCCI #1689), I have a unique skill set that allows me to provide integrated, creative therapy and counseling services. My approach utilizes the knowledge and experiences of the body (senses, feelings, tensions) and applies the clinical approaches of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Client-Centered (Person-Centered) Therapy. All sessions are confidential, within the legal and ethical requirements of my professional credentials.
